fusion, a group of musicians from the small town of Shreveport, LA, formed in 1986. The three original members were Lars Ulrich (guitar), Dave Mustaine (bass), and John Marshall (drums). Metallica’s first album was released in 1987, and it did well enough that they played four additional shows that year before heading back into the studio to record their second album.
