To mixed doubles curling gold, Italy went unbeaten on the way, Sweden’s veteran team made history by winning the country’s first men’s curling Olympic title at the perfect time, and in the gold medal game, women’s of the Great Britain team dominated.

For the 39-year-old competing, it was a special moment in his fifth Olympics, ever by a curler, which is tied for the most from any country.

To ever compete in the Olympics, Gill and Dean Hewitt were the first Australian curlers; when they began mixed doubles competition. But, for a historic first win, after starting play with seven straight losses, the two were still looking.
