For the Netherlands, Gold and Olympic record in Beijing 2022 short track 3000m relay contest of women
The Dutch team stormed to victory in an Olympic record time of 4:03.409. The PyeongChang 2018 gold medallists Republic of Korea settles for silver with the People’s Republic of China completing the podium.
On paper looked as if it would take something truly special to win in a race; in the women’s contest, the Netherlands claimed the Olympic record and gold in the short-track 3,000m relay race at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.
The reigning world record holders of the Netherlands team made up of Suzanne Schulting, Selma Poutsma, Xandra Velzeboer, and Yara van Kerkhof, having set the mark in October 2021; in the same city.
However, up against PyeongChang 2018, there were no guarantees that their recent form would translate into gold, as they found themselves Olympic champions the Republic of Korea and at the Olympics, winners of six of the eight relays competed and the most successful nation Canada in the history of the World Championships.
The People’s Republic of China has made a final of every Olympic Winter Games through the fourth team in the relay, in which the 3000m relay event has been featured in front of a home crowd bar Albertville 1992, and was racing.
