Ice, Ice, baby
Ice is the next best thing to a pimple-zapping laser. Additionally, Ice constricts blood vessels and reduces inflammation, which can help to reduce the redness and swelling that occur when you pop a pimple. Apply an ice cube directly on top of your skin for 10 minutes at a time (make sure it’s not too cold), then remove and repeat as needed throughout the day.
Lemon Juice
You might have heard that lemon juice is good for your skin. The truth is, it’s great for your skin! Lemons are a natural disinfectant and astringent—that means they can help dry out the pimple, preventing it from getting bigger. And if you have oily or acne-prone skin, this could be your new holy grail product!
Just apply a bit of lemon juice to the affected area with a cotton ball or Q-tip and keep it there for about 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water (don’t put any soap on). This will help prevent the pimple from spreading and make sure it goes away faster than if you were just treating it with concealer.
If you don’t like the idea of rubbing something so acidic onto your face (it kind of breaks down all those small hairs), then try using apple cider vinegar instead! It works just as well but leaves behind less residue so that way when you’re finished cleansing in the morning there won’t be any sticky feeling left behind which could cause irritation later on down along those lines.
Toilet Paper
Take a clean piece of toilet paper and gently apply pressure to the pimple.
Hold the paper in place for a few minutes, making sure to not press too hard or you’ll risk damaging the skin.
Repeat as necessary until the pimple is gone. Don’t use used toilet paper that you’ve found lying around—it can spread germs and other nasties!
Steam
Steam can be a great way to help reduce the inflammation of your skin, as well as open up pores and remove dirt and oil. It’s also a great treatment for acne. You don’t need anything fancy in order to steam your face—you can just use a bowl of hot water and a towel if you don’t have access to a steam vaporizer.
Just place the towel over your head, ensuring that it covers all of your hair so that no steam escapes from under it. Then lean down over the bowl with both hands placed on either side of it for about two minutes. This will help open up your pores and soften sebum (the oily substance produced by our bodies).
Aspirin paste
Aspirin is a common ingredient in skincare products. Even if you don’t know it, you’ve probably used an aspirin mask before. That’s the little tube of rubbery yellow stuff that comes with your face wash. But did you know that aspirin can also be applied directly to your skin? This can be used as an acne treatment for those who are not fans of harsh chemicals. But want to get rid of pimples overnight.
To make aspirin paste: Mix three crushed aspirins in one tablespoon water until they form a thick paste. Apply this mixture onto clean skin once per week or whenever needed (depending on how often your face gets pimples). Leave the paste on for 20 minutes before washing off with warm water and patting dry with a towel. If this feels too painful or uncomfortable on sensitive skin.
